FYI, The Sensex is basically India's equivalent of the U.S.'s Dow Jones Industrial Avg except the Sensex is a market-cap weighted indice vs. the Dow 30 which is price-weighted. The BSE Sensex represents India's 30 largest publicly traded companies and these 30 companies account for about 20% (1/5) of the total stock market capitalization of the Bombay Stock Exchange.
